What remains for people when AI takes over more and more tasks?

I spoke about this thesis at Digital Culture Week in Korbach last week.

People’s decisive contribution to companies lies in their decisions. Every employee makes thousands of them every day:

Do I submit the quotation?

Do I switch off the machine for the maintenance window?

Do I escalate the customer complaint?

We make most of them without consciously noticing.

AI does not replace the decision. It takes over preparation. AI scales decision-making capacity. Responsibility remains with people. Entirely.

If that is true, AI changes more than work. It changes leadership.

Until now, leaders have coordinated employees with different areas of expertise. In future, they will shape decisions through the interplay of humans and AI.

That is precisely why the era of purely human leadership is ending. Not with a bang, but with the first decision that AI helps prepare better.
