Most leadership teams talk about culture. The best ones change the calendar.

Most leadership teams talk about culture. The best ones change the calendar.
A leadership team I supported experienced this in an eight-week sprint: decisions used to be postponed. Today, they are made in the weekly review. Not because the people have become better. But because the rhythm creates the right moment to make decisions.
A leadership team’s operating system is not its mindset. It is its rhythm.
What the calendar delivers:
1. It creates focus. 60 minutes a week, a fixed set of KPIs, non-negotiable. What did we promise? What did we deliver? Where are we stuck?
2. It creates accountability. Commitments are made in front of the team: “I’ll deliver by Friday.” A study of 65 teams shows how closely practised accountability is linked to trust and team performance.
3. It creates decisions. What has a fixed date gets decided. What has no date gets postponed.
A leadership team reveals its priorities in its calendar, not in its mission statement.
Show me your calendar, and I’ll tell you how you lead.
What is missing most from your calendar: focus, accountability or decisions?
