The meeting is over.
Everyone nods.
Still, nothing has been decided.
This is exactly where strategies slow down.
Not because information is missing.
Because the ability to decide is missing.
In almost every blocked decision, I see three patterns:
1. No criteria
Discussion begins before it is clear how a good decision will be judged.
2. No mandate
Everyone has a say. But nobody actually decides.
3. No commitment
Decisions remain verbal. Consequences remain open.
Teams rarely lose momentum through open conflict.
They lose it in “maybe”.
Good leadership does not generate more discussion.
It generates decisions.
Not deciding is never free. It costs momentum, trust and results.
Where do things get stuck more often for you: criteria, mandates or commitment?
