Change does not need courage
“That’s #Brave!” I have often heard in recent months in response to my move into self-employment. But I think it was more about self-#Trust and #Confidence in a positive future that made this step possible.
Trust and confidence usually do not appear from nowhere. Both have much to do with the people you surround yourself with: people who also look ahead positively and confidently.
It is very similar in organisational #ChangeProcesses: confidence and trust are needed. Visionaries and lone fighters often struggle there. It is community, shared confidence, shared #Determination and mutual trust that create the strength needed to bring change effectively over the finish line.
Donella and Dennis Meadows already knew this when they wrote in their famous book “#TheLimitsToGrowth”:
“Visions without action are useless, but action without visions has no tangible goal. Visions that many people feel in a similar way and recognise as a goal are capable of creating new systems.”
