Which is more valuable: money or time?

“My time is invaluable!” Is that your answer? Time and money are limited, but time determines how we live. So let us use it wisely. Do you treat your time with the same care as your money? Many people fail to do so.

The autopilot trap

People fall into routines, get distracted or follow other people’s #Priorities. On autopilot, they fail to notice their most precious resource slipping away. Our ideas about how we spend time are often far removed from reality, as our Outlook calendars reveal.

Waking up through crises

Sometimes a painful wake-up call is needed to recognise time’s true value, whether losing a loved one or facing a serious health crisis. Such moments show how quickly time can be taken from us and how important it is to value the present.

An underestimated tool

To prevent wasted time, I recommend a method that almost nobody dares mention in the age of new work: time tracking!

For one or two weeks, try documenting exactly how you use your time in five-minute increments. You will be surprised how much is self-directed and how much is determined by external circumstances. You will quickly see how much time you devote to your own wishes, aspirations and goals.

Your life, your priorities

The analysis will be eye-opening. As the saying goes: “The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routines.” You decide whether your time is self-directed or determined by others. Use the insights to set priorities, improving not only #Productivity but also satisfaction and fulfilment. Now is the time to treat your time as valuably as your money. Invest wisely.
