The companies that really use AI talk about it the least.

In recent months, I have sat in many strategy meetings where AI appeared on every third slide. Roadmaps, use-case lists, pilot programmes.

My question there is always the same: Which decision do you make faster today than a year ago?

Usually, the room goes quiet.

Where AI has really taken hold, you rarely see it on slides. You see it in a status report that no longer eats up half the day, and in decisions coming to the table earlier.

The 2026 transformation study by Natuvion and NTT DATA identifies AI as the most important driver of current IT transformations. At the same time, transformation expertise, data transparency and continuity in the project team are among the most important success factors.

For me, this contains an interesting paradox: there is plenty of talk about AI. But impact only comes when the work behind it changes.

A loud AI strategy is often a sign that the quiet work is still missing.

What work do you actually do differently with AI today compared with a year ago?
