Do you remember Piet Klocke? 🤔 The German musician, comedian and author? The man who starts sentences... but never really finishes them? 🤷‍♂️

Well – that is exactly how I felt when I had ChatGPT transcribe my spoken words and asked it for an assessment. The honest answer?

👉 7.5 out of 10.

That hit me. I speak to clients, business partners and suppliers every day. So I took a closer look at the analysis:

✅ My strengths:

  • Structure? Yes, my thoughts had a clear direction.
  • Fluent speech? That too. No unnecessary hesitation.
  • Authenticity? Definitely – I speak as I think.

❌ But here is my room for improvement:

  • I do not properly finish some sentences. (Hello, Piet Klocke! 👋)
  • Some terms were too vague – clear to me, perhaps not to others.
  • I repeated myself unnecessarily in places.

And that is precisely the fascinating insight: We all believe we communicate clearly – until we receive honest feedback.

Communication is one of the most important leadership skills. When we speak unclearly, misunderstandings, friction and uncertainty follow. ChatGPT can be a valuable sparring partner for reflecting on ourselves and improving.

So here is my challenge to you:

🔹 Speak an instruction or a thought into ChatGPT.

🔹 Have it transcribed and analysed.

🔹 Ask: “How clear was I on a scale from 1 to 10?”

I bet the result will surprise you. 😉

Have you tried it? How do you reflect on your own communication? Write in the comments!
