Understandable. And usually wrong.
External shocks affect everyone. Tariffs, interest rates, geopolitical disruption — that is the shared context. The question is not whether the headwind will come. The question is: why do some collapse under it while others do not?
In my work with mid-sized companies, I see this time and again: the cause is almost never external. The decision-making architecture can no longer withstand the strain. Power and responsibility are not clearly defined. Leadership works in reaction mode — not design mode.
Growth without structure is not success — it is a time bomb.
Markets create pressure. Structures determine whether it can be sustained.
And that is the good news: what you have built yourself, you can also change yourself.
What last shook your company — and how much of it really came from outside?
