Children build sandcastles. And then happily knock them down again.

Children build sandcastles. And then happily knock them down again.
Not because they do not care – but because building mattered more than the result.
I know many people who have achieved ambitious professional goals – after a long, often difficult journey full of setbacks.
And then? Emptiness followed.
I have experienced it myself. A goal achieved, a lot invested – and yet there was no real sense of fulfilment.
Looking back, I realised:
The goal was only the pretext. The journey – the encounters, the struggle, the growth – that was the real value.
Children know this intuitively. We need to learn it again.
Not everything has to last. Not everything has to “pay off”.
Sometimes it is enough that we did it with wholehearted dedication.
👉🏼 How is it for you? When was the journey more important than the destination?
