The tool is not the problem.
This is exactly what is happening in many medium-sized companies right now:
→ Buy licences before defining the target state
→ Collect use cases without priorities
→ Look for quick wins without knowing what creates value
Internally, this is sold as innovation.
It is activity for activity’s sake, with an invoice attached.
Most respond in the wrong way:
→ More training
→ Yet another tool
→ Appoint an ‘AI officer’
A zoo of tools without a target state is not an investment.
It is a cost centre.
What is missing is not technology.
What is missing is a decision:
What do we use AI for — and how do we measure the value?
Without that answer, a system emerges in which everyone experiments a lot and nobody decides anything.
Which means: The next €150,000 has already been budgeted.
If you do not resolve this, AI will never become a business model in your company. It will always remain a cost item.
Target state first.
Tool afterwards.
When did you last define what you need AI for — rather than which tool to buy?
