Our priority determines how we use our time, energy and attention — or does it? Particularly at work, we often talk about priorities, in the plural. Did you know that the word “priorities” does not actually exist? A look in the Duden dictionary shows that there is only “one priority”, because the term comes from the Latin prior, meaning “the first”. Only over the years has the plural “priorities” crept in, although by definition there can only be one priority.

Perhaps that is why we often struggle to stay focused when we try to give several things equal importance. What matters most to you personally? Have you found your one priority, or are you juggling several equally important things? Share your thoughts and let’s discuss what really counts in life.
