Activity is not direction.
Never have there been so many AI workshops. Never so many use-case lists. And yet: barely any impact.
The MIT study State of AI in Business 2025 shows that 95% of GenAI pilots deliver no measurable contribution to results, despite investments of $30–40 billion.
The bottleneck appears in no maturity assessment.
Experience emerges from the bottom up. Direction is a leadership responsibility: not a dictate from above, but a target picture developed jointly by management, leaders and teams.
Three questions reveal where your AI transformation really needs to start:
1️⃣ Is AI integral to your 2030 target picture, or just an appendix?
2️⃣ Does management back it with time, budget and its own working routines?
3️⃣ Does AI change the logic of your business model, or only individual processes?
Those who know the bottleneck set priorities. Those who do not produce activity.
Maturity does not decide. The bottleneck does.
Where do you see the biggest bottleneck today: target picture, leadership or business model?
