The difference between a “job description” and impact – in one simple formula:

x + y = z

Many CVs only tell us what someone did.

But the much more interesting question is: What changed as a result?

A small formula can help make that clearer:

x – What was there before you came on board?

y – What specifically did you do, change or initiate?

z – What came out of it in the end?

Example:

“Outdated CRM system (x) → Introduction of a new tool including training for 12 employees (y) → +35% sales process speed (z)”

That has a very different impact from: “Implemented CRM system”.

📌 Anyone who wants to demonstrate impact must provide the context – and the result.

👉🏼 What is your favourite x+y=z from your own career?
